The Colour Collaborative: February: Precious
The most precious things in life aren't ones that directly cost money. For me, they are time, memories, happy moments with the children.
Life can be quite full and overwhelming a lot of the time, making those quiet moments very precious. As the days and weeks fly by, it's important to try and fit in those good times whenever we can.
They don't have to be holiday moments, just a little time when the demands of the everyday world recede and life is stripped back to what's important. They don't have to last for hours, just a quiet time at home or a short walk together is enough.
There's often a blue or a green haze over my memories. Sky, sea, nature. The things that don't change too fast, the simple things that have been the same all my life, and that will still be the same after I'm gone. These are the places we choose to be together. The countryside, the seaside. Hours spent wandering, chatting, exploring. Precious times indeed.

What is The Colour Collaborative?
All creative bloggers make stuff, gather stuff, shape stuff, and share stuff. Mostly they work on their own, but what happens when a group of them work together? Is a creative collaboration greater than the sum of its parts? We think so and we hope you will too. We'll each be offering our own monthly take on a colour related theme, and hoping that in combination our ideas will encourage us, and perhaps you, to think about colour in new ways.

Beautifully expressed and so true. x
ReplyDeleteI agree, your sentiments are so true, sometimes it is just what might seem a very ordinary moment that stays in your memory, and what can be more precious than time spent with your children. And they do grow up so fast that before you know it, whoosh, they have left home. And for me many happy moments have been times spent outside under the blues and greens!
ReplyDeleteCaz xx
Beautiful post and the last two pics are stunning. Wishing you many happy more moments filled with simple things to keep in your mental scrapbook!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post CJ and I would say it just about sums up precious moments for me too - blue sea and sky, green fields and woods. Enjoy the rest of the week. Jxx
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is definitely timeless
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, the most precious things are the memories and the times spent with friends and family! xx
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's Daniel's twentieth birthday today, I wonder where the time has gone, all the memories I have of the time we spent together while he was growing up are very precious.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photographic record of happy moments x
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of memories having a colour. You're right - holidays in particular always (to me) leave memories where certain colours dominate.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree that 'precious' doesn't simply mean possessions which cost a lot of money. It's about time spent wisely with those we love and about doing things which make us happy. Capturing those moments in photographs allows us to revisit them.

So very true, everyone should have these happy memories to look fondly back on! As my children are older now I look back on days spent like these happily now. And yes they do have the colour green flashing through them x
ReplyDeleteA delightful post, and lovely pictures. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so true, these are the most precious things we have, I think. I'd say mine are more blue and brown - desert landscape and open sky. Lovely post and photos, CJ.
