I always get a bit confused as to what day it is after a bank holiday. Monday? Tuesday? Wednesday? We're there or thereabouts. We found the nesting woodpeckers on Saturday and watched them for a while. Then we spent some time in a lovely garden.
There was a chance for more lovely gardens on Sunday when we went to a little nearby town to start a walk up over the hills. There was an open garden trail round some absolutely gorgeous gardens with cake. Sadly other people wanted to do the walk so I had to content myself with peering over the occasional hedge and a cookie from home.
I fear this will a short post (of course, this may be a good thing) as my backspace key keeps coming off and it's driving me absolutely bananas. As with everything I type in a huge rush and then end up hammering the backspace to get rid of all the errors. No wonder it's all gone wrong. I've ordered a new one, what's the betting it doesn't fit though.
I seem to be slightly lacking in energy this week, not good for a half term. Lots of dead/dying plants that need re-sowing, loads of chores to be done, cupboards and clothes that need tidying and sorting, children needing entertainment, constant demands for food, and all I really want to do is curl up with a good book. Tomorrow I shall grit my teeth and get to it all. Well, some of it at least. Are we having a good week?
So far so good, but it is only Tuesday, or is it? We don't have half term in bonny Scotland but I think we should, for parents only. Hope your energy levels pick up tomorrow. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a bit droopy too this week. I keep reminding myself that half term can be used to recharge my batteries as well as hurtling around trying to do a million things! Your photos are just beautiful. I love the wild flowers and pretty cottages.

I have the same problem after a Monday holiday, which yesterday was. I think I've been in a daze all day long. The good news is that it's Tuesday, not Monday. I'm tired too, but have been vegging for days, so probably should try to perk up a little by now. Maybe tomorrow. :)

ReplyDeleteE has been on study leave for a fortnight, so it really doesn't feel like half term around here. It never occurred to me that you could buy replacement laptop keys. My space bar key is cracked (after I levered it off to remove biscuit crumbs from underneath it!); now it doesn't work unless you press it in a certain position and if I'm not careful allthewordsrunintoeachhother! Lovely photos, your walk looks great - I love the frogs and toads in the road sign. Enjoy the rest of the week and good luck with those pesky chores. xx
ReplyDeleteI need a toad sign for the lane. I shall get on to the council now. I love the photo of the old petrol dispensers. Half term here is more about being in the same house rather than doing the entertaining these days which is easier but does sometimes make me feel wistful. I hope your vroom picks up. Toffee rice crispy cakes are good for energy....... :-). Xxx

Any chance of, erm, outsourcing some of those chores? PS This comment took ages to type as there's something (possibly half a slice of toast) stuck underneath the H key.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see your beautiful SUNNY photos. We've been under a dark grey cloud here in the SE for days and days (well, since Saturday) and it's been windy, wet, cold... Yuk. I'm sitting in the kitchen while all the children are still in bed. I don't want to make any noise and wake them up. Tea and toast and catching up on favourite blogs – not a bad way to start the day. ReplyDeleteThat last paragraph pretty much sums up how I felt throughout most of half term and I'm convinced it was the weather. Today it's glorious and I am buzzing with energy and cleaning like mad. I'm on the seventh load of washing - cushion covers and rugs are even going in! Xx
